On the original MDLDecompiler I get the app 221 id error, but for the fixed version it gives me the qc file but says "could not find modelsr(weirdcharacter).smd"
I still think the problem is the Normal. As you can see I am using a constant for diffuse and specular and still get the same error! Here are the textures:
That line is a seam. Is this in the Max viewport? Take the assets into the game engine you're targeting and look at it there. The Max viewport is notoriously bad for errors where none really exist.
The rays from the cage have to hit something or you are going to get a ray miss error. Check this out and scroll to working with cages, if there is no HP then there will be no normal information.
Some progress on the highpoly, some small smoothing errors still and the forehead needs some cleaning up and edges softer maybe I bake the holes differently
Fixed the last smoothing errors, refined the textures, and reworked the collar. Gave it some Digital Cammo to add a little bit of visual interest. Wadda ya think?
Create a small part of the low poly and test it yourself : ) You got one little smoothing error on the front part, but it looks way better than before.
I thought the exact same thing, but on loading it in OverDose, it spat out a few errors. I'll try this file and have a word with our coder. Thanks mate.
