I missed the last 2 challenges and this time I'm intended to join. The idea and atmosphere is really intriguing.48-hours of crunching with a dozens of people in a room whose aim is only making games with very few sleep, might be interesting to experience that :P In the whole country only METU is organizing the ggj, located in…
Nice work all - some really inspiring work this month. Excited to see so many people turn out to participate -- and finish! @Evil_Fischi - Looking like a great block out so far! Maybe just fill in the "unknown" area with some great big destroyer style engines? Quick update! don't believe I'll have time to finish this…
I play around with GameMaker some and make some simple prototypes. Struggles I face is... I have to much shit I want to make, resulting in me not being able to focus. I constantly juggle between art(not necessarily for a game I am working on), gamemaker, freelance stuff. Right now it's mainly for fun/learning, but I intend…
@Haikai, Wow, thanks for the paintover, its super super userful! I totally agree about the feautres being too big for the face, it was giving it more of a stylised look than I intended. Definately going to shrink them down a little after seeing this, should give a lot more balance to the face. In the middle of moving…
that chris norpchen is a genius :p actually, watching this film, anyone from "the outside" (so to speak, no pun intended at all) SHOULD run away screaming when they even hear the word 3D industry MENTIONED, let alone what they would do should they actually get a job offer for said industry. and then the irony is that most…
... I'm not saying they need to be robots that stare at the camera and go from one technical point to another. I'm saying its a 2 hour podcast that could likely be 45-60minutes and still be full of fun chatter we can all laugh along with while being interesting to game artists. Anyway, I've gone on more than I intended to…
I think some of that might be the eyes/brow. Perhaps lighten up the color of the eyebrows a little bit, it should help out his look towards your intended as well as make certain things like the "fake/too tan" more evident. Also his eyes seem to slant inward a little bit too much, making the outline on the edges of his eyes…
@DWalker: yeah the seams picked up more dirt and AO then intended. there's some direction noise for dirt streaks that comes off the rivets, is that possibly the vert line you mean, or should I offset them so they dont line up? @Paul: for 2 years I've been waiting for this moment....someone finally circled something in red…
Oh keep going with it. As is, whip and shield. At the very least you get experience in character design and Overwatch styling. The fact that Blizzard came out with a champ in the same vein only matters if you were intending to submit this to them for consideration. Even then I would phrase it as I created this character…
^ Used sales aren't what they used to be anymore (pun intended). Almost every shop is trying to cut out the provider, essentially, making the middle man the profit maker. Just like stuff with Ikea. If you want to support good furniture and you local mom and pops shop, spend a little bit more for the long run. Don't cheap…
