Just UV everything and make sure its all the right texel amount in relation to each other and just fit things the best you can on both sheets so that you are using the most space possible.
I worked customer support and then IT. You just have to buckle down and really work at it and I mean really work at it. Take the amount of work you put into school and double it, do that for a year and you should be set.
totally understandable. i get how the workflow and amount of files increases, but I'm not sure how the software list increases. I always figured people used Maz/Maya, Zbrush/Mudbox, Xnormal and Photoshop in their workflow.
This is why you'll see a lot of people recommend a fine arts degree or a computer science qualification. Because those degrees are usually a guarantee of a minimum amount of ability. Games degrees are just too new and too specific.
Looks really good for the amount of polys you are using. The colors are coming off as a little flat. I'd try to add some more variation, but then again...it still looks good the way it is. Are you planning on doing anything with it?
hmmm how much time and energy do you spend on a single piece before deciding to move onto the next piece? it just seems like i can get critiqued and revise for an indefinite amount of time.
Thanks for the reply Snow. I see there are lots of people having mystery problems. Man, the amount of time I've wasted tweaking things trying to get them to work. I'll give DOTA 2 Test a try.
... Many valid suggestions for a problem that has been presented in few words and lots of implication: "Evercrack addict." It's a sketchy amount of information to comment seriously on. People should try solving their own problems, and minding their own business.
Continuing the outfit. Working on the fur bits right now. I'm going to reduce the amount of fur lining compared to the concept as I felt like it was a bit much. The hair is up next but is going to take me FOREVER!!!!
awesome advice in here just wanted to chime in and say, with the amount of information on your texture you could easily halve the size and not lose anything. that large a sheet for this style of diffuse is o-o-o-o-overkill
