Just grab all the faces and do a new clean UV projection. Cut some UV seams in and do an unfold.

in the new uv editor --> unfold --> straighten uvs maybe you need to move some point but its working fine...

Select a couple edge loops deep into the backside and cut it off the there. You can discard the inside faces that won't be seen. Then just unfold like normal.
