Don't make the same mistake a lot of students do when they're desperate for a job. It's tempting to want to settle with "anything" just to get into the industry, but this is your life you're committing yourself to. Any lack of experience will immediately reveal itself since this is a money making business. There's no…
Thanks for the write-up, Hazardous, that's an interesting process. I'm actually very curious now as to how the exaggerated-for-printing version looks on a render! Asymmetrical sculpting sounds like fun and it's definitely something I want to try out once I've finished all my current WIPs. I wish I could also print, but…
Ah well, I kind of went nuts this morning and bought a Samsung LNS3241D 32" LCD and a cheap-o entertainment center from Wal Mart. I realized I'm always living super frugal but I don't have car payments or rent and my student loan payments are pretty low, so what the hell, a TV lasts longer than a computer anyway (I hope!)
I don't now where you live in Holland, but if you pass Arnhem you are welcome for a few beers and a good night sleep(I live in a student flat though, you might experience some weird stuff at night ;) ). [dutch]Mijn oude stagebegeleider heeft precies hetzelfde gedaan, je moet z'n blog van toen eens lezen:…
If i'm honest guys those are slightly out of my budget, If I bought two of those that would be around 600 gbp shipped, they're alot more expensive in the UK. I was thinking of buying 2x or 3x of these. I can compromise quality as i am a student now and I'm eatin beanz :P http://www.ebuyer.com/product/196524…
Yeah the tree texture kind of sticks out a bit to me too, but overall this is looking pretty sweet. I've always kind of wanted to create an environment like this myself, so its always cool to me when I see other people do it. I'm still a student so I have a long way to go though before I'll be able to put together…
I think I only ever reacted badly to one post when I first started posting here. Its probably because it was an environment texture and I was quite plased with it. To be honest i think the posts are actually fairly mild and people tend to hold back. When I was an art student they were often brutal about our work, which…
If you have some extra $$, Grant Warwick's Hard Surface Modelling course has a pretty good portion on cars. I used it and got about midway through a car in my free time and his tips were SUPER helpful, especially the fact that he used 3ds Max. He has a discount for students as well, which brings the price a bit below the…
I feel like what you have is fine to be honest, tackle the eyes next and the work on making your connections to the mouth area. Also, try to keep the edge flow clean and make sure the spacing is nice and even. Best thing you can do is look up reference an see what other people are doing. Here is an image I found on google,…
Well here's how it's currently stacking up with the proportions and profile of the facial features: I'm not sure how helpful they'll be, but you might want to check out some of the videos at http://www.3dappealblog.com/ In a few of them he goes over his students work, showing how to redesign the 3d model to better match…
