Zbrush do have this problem too sometimes if you dynamesh lots of object elements at the same time. You can try to dynamesh one by one until you got all combined, normally this works fine for me.
Are you using a human scale model for reference? I think the door looks tiny compared to other elements (those cables and lightbulbs would be as thick as my arm, two people could fit in that ducting side by side)
@b1skit Thank you, that's not the actual landscape I'm going to attempt, only ground portion is similar. I'm aiming for this quality of blend, where both diffuse, normal and spec elements are correctly blended using custom mask or heightmap.
you can just export the highpoly elements separately in 3 different obj files then use xnormals "bake base texture" feature. in options check object ID and it will create a map with random colors assigned to each mesh.
I am really loving the texturing! Hand painted texturing is something that I want to get better at. Do you photo-source at all? Also, what are your plans for the background elements? Can't wait to see more!
If you want to get a "count" of values set in a BitArray without converting to an Array, you can just use:<bitarray>.numberSet Since <bitarray>.count will return the number of elements in the BitArray regardless of whether they're set on or off.
I just think you have to have a clearer vision of what you are trying to illustrate. perhaps mix some clearly non natural elements with the rock background. I would go for structures rather than 'goop'
I kinda would have liked to see :) I also noticed a number of elements from the tron2.0 game in this movie, including the 2nd gen lightcycle. Even thoug the game isn't canon, it's interesting to see bits of it brought in
I liked the film allot. Visually it was very rich, and I liked the interwoven game elements. Character motivations did feel weak.. but I can over look it. I think they captured the Silent Hill experience well.
quick question I've often wondered about, http://www.pixlode.com/upload/578d_swordhelp1.png for the handle, I was thinking about making it a seperate element. Is this bad practice? should it be once continuous model or is this a good way to save polys?
