Thanks guys for the great feedback! Time to learn how to draw hand painted, stylized textures. Trying to find some guides to start me off is a little hard though. Anyone know of any?
I've been practicing some zbrush lately, working on different techniques for stone. Some tests on a tiling stone pattern And this was more of just me doodling with no goal. I guess it's a stylized rocky surface?
Just wanted to add that I'm moving a bit away from my concept and going to go a bit more stylized. I'll be going more for a Danger Girl type body rather than realistic.
This piece makes me happy, well done chaps. Its great that you pulled off something stylized with DDO which I think is rather difficult to do. One of my favorite entries.
If you want to practice human anatomy, why are you making it more challenging for yourself by trying to make a stylized elf character? Why not just do a human character straight up and learn from that?
It's a very stylized animation and it fits the character that is this sleek almost ninja-like personality. I love the animation especially the side-ways spin, the way you land on one foot into a recovery is clean and crisp.
I really like your textures, but to me the more I look at the wood the more I see fur. I know its a stylized wood, but that's just what my mind goes too.
There are a few tuts on the forum if u search for hand painted textures or stylized. Learn from the pros, since their here and able to help ya out ! This is the way i learned to paint my textures as well.
are you going for his original proportions? Right now, its quite a bit different. The stylization of the original tends to make him more readable and much more animal like. Just my opinion!
