if your just showing off the props, then I'd lose the scene. they don't really go together well. Focus on getting more upclose shots of the props. do you have bump on the guitar?
I think you ought to make the ruins environment look like the reference. The reference is incredible, but your 3d version seems unfinished. Your tree pales in comparison, it looks squat and not majestic like the reference. Adding in a skybox and background is easy to do in Unreal, you can whip that up in a day. If this…
3D Prop (concept by Caroline Choi) Leaned heavy into stylization for this, I made a post processing outline material in Unreal to really push the look even more :D The right lighting really helped it A LOT, it was definitely one of those projects I was iffy about up until I played around with it in engine
The trial version I used is limited to 50k, I've heard that's going up to 65k in the 2015 version, but I'm not 100% sure. I can't speak for character artists but low poly props and environment assets rarely even approach this. For high poly meshes, there are a few workarounds: - You can smooth your mesh in another program,…
Out of the two designs i prefer the second one, i feel like this could have a sort of alan wake style to it in a noir theme a man/woman just trying to find the answers he/she is looking for. What these answers are i dont know? But i just like the way it ends at the well, maybe he leavers up the bucket from the well when…
@atunnard Hi dude! That prop is from @GhostDetector that image is his render which I edited to include my feedbacks. Your prop is looking great! The edges are looking a bit it sharp though.
Hey, I have started working on a new scene, here is a desk prop I'm using in it I will be posting more of the props as the scene progresses. Again C&C are more then welcome.
You need to learn about hero props and creating unique assets. Here's a video for the uv's by Musashidan https://youtu.be/EH5tyMytVs8 Here is the prop wiki. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Category:Props
As an environment artist I use it for Textures, any prop that has any kind of wear and tear, organic props etc. Still use ndo, crazybump for small detail surface normals.
Yay! In about a week and a half I will have a new high poly prop up. Still searching around for something to make - ideally it will be one of my friends' prop concepts :D
