Actually I think it might come back, but considering Comicon just finished it would be more likely for Game Artisans to do an environment art challenge before that. So if there was going to be one it wouldn't be for while some time.

Nice concept. This is probably a nitpick but I'll say it anyway. The zipper reminds me of sackboy quite a bit, but anyway, perhaps the zip handle thing could be of a rounder shape to match better with the rest of the forms on the character. Yeah, I'd say it's a RAM issue more than anything else. There are a few workarounds though to getting more detail into your models without having to reach those higher counts though, such as retopologizing your sculpt and projecting the details from the original onto the newer clean topology.
