yep, just photoshop and maya. i like it because the whole process can be more dynamic!! i never have to be afraid of making major changes or adjustments since i only have to model, adjust the new uv's, and then continue with texturing again - no big deal!!
Here is another update. I used other 3d models as reference this time as well as some actress pictures(Famke Jansen). I fixed some anatomy issues around the lip area. Any thoughts? I'm gonna continue uv mapping the mech now.
Finish the degree, Chris. I regret not finishing mine despite it being completely worthless, learning-wise. You need to be able to get out of this doomed country if you want to continue to work in the games industry and you're not far from getting the paper to that'll allow it.
Wow thank all of you guys for the amazing references you have all posted they all have been very helpful! I will get through all of them and continue to touch up my knowledge of colours thank you all so much again!
Gun looks gorgeous as usual :D However I'd like to continue the website crit and suggest something even more simple. The grungy font makes it hard to read, and the drop shadow steals focus from the work. did a quick mockup based on EQ's suggestion:
Wow, very Devil May Cry-ish! I was going to suggest a little bit of anticipation before the downward strike, but you already added it in. My only feedback is that it feels like two separate actions instead of one continuous attack. Looking great man!
small update of my gun: Today I worked for about 2 or 3 hours on the placeholder parts and converted most of them in clean subD meshes. progress became slow today. I hope I can continue with the more fun detail part tomorrow.
Your human anatomy needs work all over. Just focus on fixing the silhouette for now. Your character needs to be in a more relaxed, correct T pose. I really recommend picking this up for study before continuing further with details https://gumroad.com/grassetti
16bit's link is pretty much dead on. You need to animate the legs like you would a horse, since a centaur, from the waist down, is a horse. The human arms will come later, but you really need to get the legs good and proper before you continue.
HAHAHA I love this little guy. I just worry that his going to loose his page :) perhaps you could continue some strapping or add a lock at the open end.. or even flip the book around. So keen to see some more of this guy.
