There's nothing really to see ace, it's basically how you would imagine it. The UV's are overlaid and mirrored up so they arent inverted in max. These are the UV's without the seam(pic), the other looks exactly the same, it's just mirrored down and inverted. The light map has no overlays as per all standard protocol. This… -

Usually what i do for small pieces like that is to do the UVs like this, Your still going to face very low resolution in those areas, but if they arent going to be really detailed, then you can get away with it. Alternatively, you can cut those protruding bits out and have them as separate UV islands, that way you can… -

dude.. great HP !!! BUT ur AO bakes arent any good man :( what are u using for ao bakes ? RTT or xnormal ? they really need to improve. also i like ur bas colours, BUT i think u did to play around w/ the values of the colours a bit more - add more punch/contrast that way it helps identify each object/element better :) -

There seems to be seaming issues around the wrists, and the right elbow geometry is collapsing horribly. Put in more edge loops if you arent having enough to bend it. White is convex, black is concave, mid grey is flat I'd hazard a guess that method b looks wrong because your bake settings arent right. It'll be easier to diagnose from the normal map so post that up alongside next time. WRT projection distances.. I usually start with 0.01 frontal and 0.5 rear (relative to bounding box)… -
