The overall work is nice, but what I really like is the hinges. Its something that is missing from a lot of sci-fi design, and this makes them look not so functional sometimes. Maybe you should add more.
concepts for a robot. I'm trying to get a bit out of my comfort zone and think of function and purpose rather than fall back on using cat legs, thin waists and broad shoulders. also did a study.
Decals are nothing new. I remember using them in old Worldcraft/Hammer for Half-Life 1 in the late 90's. It is sad that many of today's game engines don't have that functionality out of the box(Unity).
Two years ago maybe. Although I was a good fan of their chat function but we have a similar thing going on on Skype and Google Hangout. -CGhub -Digital Tutors community forums -Polycount's PnP and Tech Talk
That's another habit you'll want to break if you want good looking lighting. :) That function is best for temp UVs or stuff you have no source art for. Making your own lightmap UVs will ALWAYS be better quality...
I was thinking about that idea not too long ago myself, being able to snap a curve along the surface that you could then have control various functions with. I imagine thatll be something we will see someday...
Modified in the title was maybe a wrong choice of words on my part. My goal with this to take a MP5 and give it a personal style, not quite realistic either. My plan wasn't really to change much of the functionality of the weapon itself.
The rust track at the bottom piece is good. The olive color is okay. My problem is that the props lack a visible function (no Enterprise logos or usefull warning messages) combined with simple design and texture so the greyish color is boring.
daaaamn! Some areas have so many trims yet they don't look too busy at all. And love I those ceiling panels in the corridor since they really look functional. some asset breakdowns PLZ?
Thanks Eric. I was aware that the the functionality between IBL and HDR plus skylight were similar, but I'm just a curious individual and always want to learn more. Thanks for the links coldside. They will be going in the bookmarks for further exploration.
