it's very possible, you really just need networking to get that foot in. someone you know may be looking for someone else to take their spot with a client as they leave for a different job, or a studio your friend works for is looking to wrap up a game quickly and needs manpower etc. get your name out there. yes, generally…
yeah you can get a trade visitor ticket (I never knew) I think the only requirement is that you need a business card of your company. don't know what the restrictions are on that. Maybe you can quickly throw together a biz card for yourself, fake company name, etc. Thursday is really busy, and Friday's and Saturdays are…
I don't know much about technical artists stuff but from a video edition stand point your audio is way to loud and clips in certain areas. I had to put my windows volume down to 8 just to listen to it at a comfortable level. Also some of your text boxes switch to quickly before I can read them.
The game is a bit too easy and feels strange early on in the game, but trust me, it rapidly picks up and the 'floatiness' is a core game mwchanic; learning to handle how the characters jump and move becomes really important for getting through tight spaces quickly - and you never stop learning to use those basic moves…
Details are way too small. They turn quickly into noise when viewing the whole thing. I'd make everything at least twice as big and half the amount of stitches. You need to view your work from a distance always and judge if everything reads properly. It'll keep you from overworking it. Show your reference. Will make it…
I quickly checked out what did I use in those tuts and I can reassure you, all of those nodes are called the same, still. Except the custom events, since you name those to whatever you want. Matinee/Sequencer/Timeline anime - for what you want to use it for, I would definitely go with a timeline and no matinee or sequencer.
This was a Day 1 assignment in my first ever modeling class and really helped in wrapping my and everyone else's heads around manipulating an object in 3D space, which for the majority of people was something they had never even thought about. Having to move/scale/rotate things a few thousand times right out of the gate…
Ok, so the update is really 5.3. I'm waiting for 6.0, hope it's gonna be a great improvement if they're giving the current version for free. It's very useful though for everyone, even if you don't want to use the detail creatiion. You can import your color mask, quickly set up values for all channels and add custom details…
I use it to set my photoshop document and base materials really quickly for me. I also use it as a rapid visualization tool a little bit so I can play with some presets to get some ideas on different parts of my texture. Like EQ said though, its important to use the tool, and not just use it as a lazy crutch.
Ya. Also, before I start baking and I want to quickly test the cage, I'll add a push modifier on top of the "turn to poly" so I can have a custom material set that really shows where the cage isn't pushing large enough. Super non destructive so I can go back and edit the LP whenever.
