So having moved onto texturing, I have begun a preliminary pass on the gun having followed some substance tutorials and trying to keep as much of the texturing as possible procedural. There will be certain elements that I will need to texture using photoshop.
Another daily update; just blocking in some other elements so that I can check everything against the concept. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxXWmmQ1Fzw"]Elle Sk-Succubus 5: Taking flight - YouTube[/ame]
There's also the "box trick"(I'm not sure if there is a better name for it). Where you create a box, align it to your old objects, then attach the problem object to it then delete the box element. That usually works for clearing out any bad data too.
Hey guys! I finally jumped in 3D and started blocking some of the main elements. I also focused on keeping the clean topology at the same time. Here is a WIP shot, please tell me what you think guys ^^
New Update!! (Color WIP) I fixed a little bit the pose and the perspective with the background. Now i need to work in the dragon design, Taliyah is an earth bender so i think that a dragon with earth or rock element would be nice!
Awesome progress so far! I agree with lotet on his criticism on the gun, I also think you could give it more variation on its thickness. Make some elements a tad wider to give it more character and bulkiness.
Actually, I think the stairs look just fine - stone staircases that have been exposed to the elements for quite some time, especially those that are well trodden tend to be quite smooth in appearance where otherwise there'd be harder edges.
You know you're right, I have a character I'm developing for a contest, and a major design element is the ability for her to open her mouth abnormally wide, achieved by a slit along the cheeks. This is a sketch of what I'm trying to achieve:
Yeah man, I also heard this was a first person shooter and had RPG elements, and co-op, heck I even heard it was in 3D and was a game. Real creative people over at Techland. I'm glad the world is black and white.
What's up dudes! So far so good. I like that you are playing with depth by placing some elements closer to the camera! Those light shafts are really cool as well! Gonna keep my eye on this one, subbed!
