unless you are a majorly talented baller concept artist, having 2d sketches in your portfolio is probably going to hurt you rather than help. characters are usually designed by narrative and concept teams, and the character artists execute, not waste a ton of time coming up with stuff, they might iterate on concept designs… -

I didn't mean just plane cockpits, I meant like spaceships (Eve Online Valkyrie, Star Citizen (both have support), car racing games, a mech game like Hawken, a playing card game where there's a virtual desk or playing field infront of you, and real time strategy games. 1. Quads are easier to work with while during WIP. Once a mesh is sent to game engines, they'll become triangles. That's the nature of engine. 3. Depends on how tight the sleeves are and your budget. It all sounds perfectly sensible. Have meetings about it where you explain this to everbody, use some sort of internal wiki. When somebody does something wrong, talk to them right away to point their mistake out. Also, remember that scripting things make a lot of these things much easier. Hopefully you have a good tech… -
