Apparently Metallic value = 1 is causing my issue. Just need to change them all to 0 for Diffuse baking to work. -

OBJ will support 1 UV channel. Make sure the coordinates are in the 0:1 range if you plan on baking anything in zbrush. -

is it non manifold tho? i guess the vertices on the bottom row are not merged, just with a distance of 0 to each other? then this is totally fine.
