I had an awesome time! Thank you everyone for being awesome and making us feel welcome, definately worth the 3 hour train journey back! :D See you all again soon I hope.
+1 Lonewolf. size is relative. If this was for a game where you play a Mouse and the cigarette is a torch for a light source while exploring the sewers, it's perfect. regardless of polycount and texture size the materials are well defined and the texture is nice. good job!
Maya is definately the way to go if you already use it as a default modeling package. The less 3rd party software you have to worry about the faster your workflow will become. I personally enjoy just retopoing in Zbrush.
they are defined but It is still hidden waiting for some definition, we are discussing some internal questions about it to find the most fair option. As soon as we sort it out I will unhide it You can't see it but is right above yours
I agree with ToxiQ, the model is looking good but your renders need some love. Lights, specular and better defined materials. Also don't put a black background, it kills the silhouette :poly122: Looking forward to see more :)
Look into leather materials and what defines them. like cracks and wear etc. And sculpt that into your mesh. Also what about adding engraved text or decor. Look at old books and use them as reference to make yours
For the robot, i only sketched a quick concept to define the work i would have to do, then i modeled it in max. If you've got some problems with proportions, you should simply practise (both 3d modeling and drawing).
Hi, I love that photorealistic brick! Definately I will follow that thread. Is it real-time rendered? Quixel deliver own 3d engine adn these are shots from it? Have you made HP models of these bricks? How they are procedural?
Awesome character, I like the personality and design. I think when you model him in 3d the upper arms might be difficult to register because they are so thin and you won't have that line to help define them.
awesome suggestions: make forearm ted longer and softer that shin bone (tibula) considering how skinny he is, u could also go with defining some of the leg muscles a lil more, the tendons around the knee etc
