Just a heads up about the Surface Pro 3. Just saw this. Adobe Photoshop CC 14.2.1 x64 - runs (requires N-Trig Wintab driver) Pixologic Sculptris - no pressure ZBrush 4R6 - no pressure From http://surfaceproartist.com/blog/2014/5/29/surface-pro-3-what-runs-what-doesnt
Yeah, I'm sure the entire Episode 3 team just dropped Episode 3 to work on Alien Swarm. It makes perfect sense for Valve to have everyone in their studio work on the same game at the same time all of the time. It's not like they'd divide their developers up into separate groups to work on multiple projects at once. That…
Just a minor nitpick but you have 3 pieces of work then one beneath it, probably organise it so they're even like 2 - 2 rather than 3 - 1. Minor suggestion but everything else these guys have said I agree with, the banner is nice in concept - but it just gets in the way of us getting to your work.
I would have Character #1 ask Characters #2 and #3 for ideas. Then I would have Characters #2 and #3 mock character #1 for being completely unoriginal and tell #1 that if he is graduating this year and he still can't come up with original ideas, the University has failed him big time.
@ iniside But using tileable textures for the house moddel would mean at least 3 different texture files. And how would I get the different stone pattern around the windows and doors without using an unwrap. How is 3 tileable textures + 1 details texture better than 1 bigger texture with all the information?
I thought compared to Wacom tablets these were a cheapo solution? ( although I am happy that when surface Pro 3 came out that I was then able to get an Asus Slate for $200 :) ) I am hoping I can cheat this way upgrading on future iterations but 3 years behind at a fifth of the cost would be nice.
@ZacD: thx! @Conte: yep, second one is from Revolver (awesome underappreciated movie imo) and first one is from 3:10 to Yuma. Here is another one from 3:10 to Yuma, I kinda gave up on the background :P guess I really gotta do more environnement studies. Cya!
Wacom Intuos 3 some of the best money I ever spent on technology... or on most anything, really. Intuos 3 has the buttons and scrollers on the side which are crucial to good workflow; get the size you're most comfortable with. I personally prefer the 8x12 (got it bundled with Painter IX), but a lot of people like the 6x8.
Thanks for the input guys. I may take Xer0 and Mark's advice and skip over Blender. To be honest, I had wanted to start on 3DS Max but couldn't convince myself to spend that much money (I think this year's edition costs somewhere around 3 grand.) That 3 year student license would be great though.
Unreal Tournament 3 comes with all the Unreal Engine 3 tools, right? It seems like that would just make sense. I know a used bookstore that carries UT3 for cheaps, so I might pick up a copy on my way home from work. I'd love to play around with that Matinee app.
