That usually happens when I try to import a model with too many polygons. Try splitting the scene up into a few smaller ones. :)

lod means "level of detail" and is referring to an optimized model with less polygones simply make a quick search for "lod model" here or in the web

I fixed it, it was embarassingly simple. Select objects with creased edges Display>Polygons>Crease Edges turns their display off, even for MH2.0

Marmoset was pretty much completely rewritten for version 2. Most people can load up models with millions of polygons without issue.

Welcome! I like the concept and the modeling looks clean and the assets have been arranged tastefully. That boat is looking starved of polygons though.

high poly counts are fine, when called for. This looks like a lot of wasted polygons though, very dense with very little detail.

Yeah, nothing involving splines works for me in general except for extruding the face of a polygon along one. I will try other methods...
