It's less fussy. You auto smooth the mesh to, say, 60 degrees and throw on the modifier. Done!

In Blender you can use the remesh modifier and set the mode to block, then just adjust the resolution.

Go to the brush pallette>modifiers sub-pallette>meshinsert preview window and reset your hotkey.

I would just use the displace modifier to do this. You'd need a height map for the logo.

Or use this piece of maxscript to just turn off the TS modifiers: (getClassInstances TurboSmooth).enabled = false

Try to center the pivot points first , apply Xform to both meshes and then use the morpher modifier
