i either zbrush it straight onto the highpoly which gives more realistic results or i create shape from edge loop and then use the paint deform thing to make it blobby. i guess noise would work too.
Well, back to work. Almost done with the highpoly modeling on the M4. Just a couple more fix and model some connecting bits... And the latest of the head practices. Post it some days ago on the other thread but here it is to keep the record updated...
Whoa, we got another one thanx for this dom will come in handy for that super highpoly mudboxing I will try out in the morning hope to show some progress. I think everyone's putting there results in the what are you working on thread!
Hi again, I am finished with this piece, it was my first highpoly. I am not sure if you guys think this is worth spending time on baking the normals to the lowpoly and getting it textured. If not I will move on, thanks for your time and interest.
Ok I think now I get it. You figured they are kinda highpoly so you auto reduced them which led to lost uvs. I'm afraid there is no better way than manually cutting out the lp geometries.
Thanks for the clarification. I've given up on that workflow (maybe wouldn't be an issue if I had an industry spec machine?). My lowpoly is symmetried so I'm hoping Painter will accept a symmetried highpoly for the normal bake. -thanks for the scripts btw!
I also wouldn't lead with a wip highpoly if this is for a game job. Infact I would not have it up at all, or maybe on a blog thing. And as almighty_gir said make the first page the 3d art page. Just my advice anyways ^^
Please write what each pic is representing, right now it looks like you do a strange mix of highpoly and lowpoly and its very hard to tell what you are trying to do there and whats done and what is blockout etc.
Yeah i actually forgot to say that i dont get any seams when baking with Xnormal for example... This sucks though i wanna make maps without a highpoly and enjoy the amazing detail crazybump normals have... ._. xD
I realized this car using blueprints (http://www.the-blueprints.com/) and the Internet references. This car is not for a game, but I want to do the diffuse map, specular map and the normal map for this... I made the highpoly version...Feel free to comment... Cheers
