Soft and hard edges don't affect this, FYI. The reason you're getting this distortion is because the UV doesn't represent the actual shape of the polygon. The waviness is a side effect of this as well and can't be helped, it's because of the triangulation of the face which is happening behind the scenes to keep the display… -

I like your current post processing more then the one beancube tweaked. The moving cloth is a really nice element in the scene, but i think you should turn the wind down a bit. Doesn't feel natural now. The stones needs more hard edges to. They'r way to soft. -

so far, things are looking good. you usage of color on the various parts make it easy to read and the silhouette is rather good :) Perhaps you can really punch out the look of the metal elements by using your dodge tool set on highlights (soft brush) and punch out the shine. -

looks decent. but reminds me alot of the dudes from the halo series alot of your edges look very soft and round to me. at least, up close, on the left pic. i would harden those up. sharper edges. post bigger pics for more detailed crits though. -

You can probably half that polygon count and still get a similar result. Also if that picture works as your reference you can probably spend a little more time defining the edges of your rock to get that sharp look, right now it looks a little soft around the edges. -

I only suggest to lower the contrast on fur and hair a bit (closer to the previous version, just add some highlights instead), to make it look soft. You can also draw additional strands of hair to break those long parallel lines. -

beatrix from FFIX right? looks alright, could do with working on proportions a bit though. shorten the legs, and the torso and arms a tad, widen the hips, give her an actual figure. also, her face is a little... manly, she has a very wide face, and there's no softness to her lips. -

Hello, I added a few lines to make the polyconnect between vertices operation complete with a soft edge, since in my experience that is what you want most of the time when you connect vertices. If anyone is interested, grab it below. Thank you maxivz for the script, I use it daily ! -
