Usually when I do mine, I use the tiling along U to add variety. There's nothing illegal about what you did. I just find it easier to have a tiling direction. I'd suggest you separate the belts/straps from the body. That way you can copy the weights from the body to the belts/straps and don't necessarily have to paint them by hand. You'd do this by: 1. Separating the belt geometry. 2. Skin Bind the separated geometry. 3. Select body, then belts then Skin->Copy Skin Weights. Then… -
