I definitely agree with that. Looking at it now it would be pretty much impossible to be able to take some of his stuff off. I learned a lot through this whole process though, so I'm going to just keep pressing forward to the finish lineand take that knowledge over to my next one. Some more messing around. Unfortunately I…
I like the idea of a modified or personalized, but being a nerd about how weapons function, this MP5 would come off as a bit silly since it would throw the performance of the MP5 off. The construction of the bayonet knife attachment would lead me to believe that it would probably be a bad idea to use it with 2 hands. I…
hey panger, lips are too pursed. your cheek bone and brow are too defined, sylar is chubbier. nostrils are good but the ball of the nose it too large. your ears are too thick and sticking out too far. OH and his lower ear is attached to his head, i always noticed it when watching heroes. and his chin/jaw nees to be moe…
You got it! :) Looks like you have your glossiness set quite low. The key to good reflections is what they are actually reflecting. So your lights/environment have to be set up properly. The material is plastic so it wouldn't have a gold reflection colour. Only metals derive their reflection colour from their colour(in 3D…
@Notman I couldnt use my work from my current project, its under NDA and i imagine will be a good time after the game ships. So its portfolio time @oxynary Sadly sometime will have to be allocated for this,i wouldnt call it living in fear, more like being realistic about the nature of this industry. Ill find time to live but…
Look at the class list. http://schedule.gdconf.com/list Check the Visual Arts (maybe Design track too?) and see how many classes interest you. Is that worth $1000? Some years yes. When Unreal 3 was first shown and Bay Raitt spoke and Tim Schafer first showed off Psychonauts in the same year (at least I think it was)? YES!…
The big issue for me is the fact that the employees haven't been paid for the last month and don't get any severance. Lost in all the talk about "oh, the employees are talented, they'll land on their feet" is that severance + paying out pto and vacation time is huge for someone to get enough breathing room to be able to…
I love the little details You added. it really grounds it now. The sphere light things throw me off though since it looks like a face. I end up in a staring contest for at least a minute and I always lose. >:( some suggestions, put them in the center or stack them vertical. or offset them. Actually taking a second look. it…
chrisundrum: Thanks! I'm just going over my textures now to play with colours a bit and sort out the contrast, I definitely blew it up a bit on a few of the textures. I also tried to play around with the AO, matching it to the bricks more and moving it away from black however while it looked better on the stairs it was…
You should be working in both types of viewports. Knocking the corners off your model is going to be faster in perspective. Having a full set of blueprints to work off is a huge help when you can manage it, but even then you'll run into issues where things don't line up or make sense between the different views. You have…
