Update: changed the light Alcove to better fit the concept, blocked out where the flag will be draped, added the wall with the vents in the foreground, and populated the space with different technological elements such as the big-screen, the computer tower, and the wall modules.
why don't you make that panel its own separate element. it would be easier to render out the normals for it and it will be cheaper poly wise? OR Just remove the panel from the low poly and bake it down in the normal map.
I love the presentation style and texture on most of the elements - only part that bugs me are headlights - as HiernauxNicolas said before, little more work on shapes inside/reflections and it would blend in just fine. Good job :)
I've had verts disapear and they don't show up if I unhide all in vert mode. Normally going down to element mode and doing an unhide all takes care of the problem. Never understood why or how...
Thanks Antonio! Sorry for not writing about the process, but finally here is the result. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k47g4ci5VDg In the coming days I'll try to post some words about the elements used in this VFX, for whatever it is worth.
Hey! I really like the way u combined the design elements from the other units. Zpanzer pointed out some good things. I'll check back to see how it turns out. Good stuff!
I'm talking out of my element here, but would a Precomputed Radiance Transfer do the trick? http://graphics.cs.umass.edu/pubs/srt/ Not sure if theres an available Max plugin for this, but I'd imagine Unreal or Hammer would have it.
Damn! How far out is that? Looks amazing, the photos give a great sense of freedom and its elements. I sure would get a trigger finger if i was in a place like that with me camera :P great stuff!
Small update: Blocked out the scene a bit, just to get a sense of where i'm going at. I also started working on the high poly for the diner. Nothing special, just trying to reuse elements as much as possible.
Looks cool. I especially like the boots and robot arm. I think a lot of the other elements seem like they could use a bit more detail. I like where they are headed, but they just need more of it.
