I found that in max 8... it was only available through scripting. I always had a hard time selecting it b/c its soo small. anyone know how to increase its size or anything?

Was using Tr3b's python scripts for blender, but they didn't load anything just stopped at a point in code. Same thng with max 8 scripts. I guess I try to find some Blender guys. - eRat
Have a look at the sweep modifier perhaps, introduced in Max 7 or 8. You can have splines with several intersecting segments there. In that case you also have the option for an automated boolean union. Results vary
