The title pretty much describes my problems. I'm making a small papercraft style scene that may or may not end up in a game engine. To get it looking the way I want to, I've had to unwrap every surface and give it its own unique UV space. The upside is that it wasn't all that difficult to do. The downside is that I've now…
Hello, I am an indie game developer working on a first-person 3D narrative game (mid-poly, atmospheric/stylized — not photorealistic) built in Unity 6 URP. The game spans five distinct environments ranging from warm domestic interiors to cold institutional facilities to overcast outdoor settings. The same room geometry is…
dude this is just awesome  and thanks for the lightsaber pic now I realise how close I was to a 100% accurate Secret apprentice lightsaber model for JKA :) very good job !
Newest Lightsaber Design. Catch the lore and history I created for it on this post: https://polycount.com/discussion/216453/star-wars-the-ancient-temple-a-new-age-of-lightsaber#latest Thanks, Logan Thurman
Hi! Don't know if applicable here, the terrain-documentation mentions that lightmapping is not supported with GPU instanced details. To check whether the gras mesh bakes itself bakes nicely, I would light-bake it in a small scene (has non-overlapping lightmap UVs, sufficient resolution). With lots of foliage lightmapped, I…
[ QUOTE ] then I picked Lightsaber and he got it on the second guess. Fun [/ QUOTE ] Hmm.. I tried lightsaber now for the heck of it, and it took it like 22 guesses. Maybe it depends on how one interprets what the object is?
Hey all! I'm working on a Kylo Ren lightsaber shader and handle as well. I made a thread about it so be sure to check it out at some point if interested! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaU1COvoxLk&feature=youtu.be http://polycount.com/discussion/164102/kylo-ren-lightsaber#latest
Try making your material 2-sided on the object and then baking the ao/lightmap. I cant remember if that trick is for mental ray or lightracer though...
what i do is to set up a skylight , put on lightracer on the render , and when i select normal map in the render to texture i also select lightmap. good luck !
Jedi Knight games weren't very good. The FPS style did not suit the action or story at all. Lightsabers were friggin awkward to use and the level design for a lot of areas sucked. Jedi Academy was a lot better but still very awkward, not suited very well for lightsaber battles. This is the best SW game since KotOR and flat…
