You have to be using a phong shader in Maya for them to work, blinn flat out refuses to show them, connect your gloss map to cosine power No idea about a tutorial though, they're fairly straight forward just experiment you'll pick it up quickly Quick edit because apparently blinn's do work and I forgot something important… -

I agree with BARDLER. I think you could improve on lighting in general. Try to use more of the entire luminance range. Took the liberty to do a little comparison. Same here. The Luminous tech demo benefited immensely from both of those features. Decent cloth simulation for clothes (as opposed to single sheets like flags) is a must for next gen, and hair simulation would go a long way towards alleviating the bald space marine thing we've had going on this whole gen. -
Answered: DDO to Redshift roughness problem
Hello, I used the Metalness disney exporter in DDO and connected the maps to redshift in Maya. Here ist the result. The main problem I have right now, is that the roughness doesn't seem to be the same. I set the colorspace to raw, alpha is luminance and BRDF is GGX. Do you have any idea what is wrong? In Photoshop, Ctrl-Alt - ~ selects by luminance - white is 100% selected, black is 0 % selected, etcetera. There may be other ways of getting this, but it works through all visible layers, and I find it quite useful at times. And the Ctrl-Backspace in 3DS Max mentioned by renderhjs is something I only learned about myself… -
