I just figured exporting it would give me a little bit more control with more tools. I was trying to use things like ring selection and edge loops and they weren't available. I saw the export button and figured it might have been a convenient solution, but I guess I was wrong.
I don't like the fact I see the back of it, some really cool details and im seeing the back. Maybe the background is also not the right choice as its too noisey behind the character and vehicle, maybe without the asteroid ring. Really interesting work just a few last things to sort out.
thanks fabio So this are the updates. -change in the eyes -tweak of the chin -changes in the neck scarf -added a zip and zip ring -tweaked the butt and hopefully it looks better now? still trying to come up with a good idea for her gun. my concept is a electric stun revolver, a zapper if you will. Powered by batteries.
Gollum is always a very interesting character :D In my opinion, you should take a closer look on his anatomy and your texture work. For example his skin color is very uniform and looks like plastic. Are you using more maps or only a diffuse map? The ring is really nice
haven't played 3 yet but loved 2 and you'd be a fool to skip it. It'd be like watching Star Wars and skipping Empire or watching Lord of the Rings and skipping The Two Towers or playing Gears of War and skipping Gears of War 2.... wait, ok I guess it'd be exactly like that second one...
Nice work! my only crit is that there's a lot of crisp edges in the detailing, like the rings under the crown. They look a bit wider/rounder in the original. Seconding what Snader said about thickening things up. Since you're using planes for the lowpoly, a bit more of an exaggerated bevel to get a good read.
its very pastel colored at the moment, soft low saturation colors. mix it up a bit , for a character like this i would avoid having more than one of such colors in the model, they dont feel right. that ring on his chest really baked out nicely good bakes, work on the textures. -Woog
That's ridicules ... like saying just because everyone likes Lord of the Rings your not going to read them or see the movies ...god I hate people who try and act cool by NOT doing what's mainstream ... Seriously if you can't enjoy a Harry Potter book I really feel sorry for yah ....
Pretty cool man, I wanna see this as a melee weapon. Maybe a substitute for the Pyros flamethrower. I agree with Vig about the larger brush strokes and details. The ringed design could be larger and less defined. You could probably put the entire texture on a 128x512 or smaller and it would still hold up.
First of all straighten those uvs. Have a look at Chuggnut`s tools on scriptspot, it`s a must really if you use Max. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/unwrap-tools Polyboost can select loops/rings in the UVW window but I`m pretty sure there are free scripts for that task as well.
