Two years indeed flew by. I was working QA for a while in there and my work stagnated for a long time because of that, (I was always learning and working but never pursued many long term meaningful projects). Excellent suggestion with the cheekbones. It was a minor change but I think it had a big impact on the overall…
I'm with Earthquake on that one. It does look like there is a bit too much going on in the metal areas. I think dirt and scratches make things look more realistic, but at a certain point they start to detract from the model and draw attention to themselves. Some of the "noise" throughout the texture just seems to jump out…
Hi thanks for the comments. I roughed in some kneepads. I like the way the bands go around her legs, but I think the pads are a bit too big for my liking. So I'll need to tweak them a little. I gave her some longer pants too, but they didn't work to well once the kneepads were added, so I tucked what she had into her…
yup all you need is the maxscript listener and enable the macro recorder to listen to your commands (well most of them) noticed this little thing at the lower left corner of max? it is the maxscript listener but in a compact mode, for the real deal press [F11] or alternativly find it here: and this big version appears: the…
So yeah after 4(!) tedious windows reinstalls, I got my laptop up and running again with all the newest drivers and updates. Thus the delay. Anyway, continued texturing, (made the engravings a bit more readable by darkening the recesses, made the metal slightly less blue and added damage and rust to some of the metal). The…
Very cool! Fanboy freakout aside (OMG, HP AND PHILLIPK!!!!!!!!), I'm wondering what you would think about adding a hint of stronger foreground contrast? There's great color here, and some pretty nice value ranges too but it lacks a little bit of the darker end of the spectrum. There's some nice mid-grays and whites here so…
I agree that the plastic material does look much better, but as noted by someone else, the muddiness that you have going on right now is totally killing it for me. Right now I'm not sure if this has something to do with some sort of rendered fog volume, or if this is the result of odd post processing. If you're using post…
hey mog - its a small world. lots of good feedback here. perhaps #1 needs a whole specular pass on it, the way the sun hits the sand and the pyramid, it would think you'd get some variation in the light. i also don't think the sky would get black at the horizon and the overall ambience might be overkill. i think the whole…
A good improvement. Maybe the ear could be a little bit more red/saturated - it's thinner flesh and light passes through it, illuminating the blood inside and giving a more reddish tint, especially when lit from behind. You might also want more colour variation across the face - try making the chin area subtly more blue…
shrew81: yeah, i'm still working on the emissives and my walls. the room does feel empty cause i still haven't made my main prop that'll go in the energy lift (machine being repaired). once that is done, i'll scatter pieces around the room and put some on the shelves and what not. OH! and there's a door in there...it's…
