Thanks for the tip! I believe it's because he has limited amounts of time - and 29 students to take care of. That alongside the fact that we're not supposed to touch on this before another 8 months. Still agree though, learning the base anatomy of a skull would definitely help loads! Maybe I'll settle down some day and…
My portfolio teacher in my school kinda rags on students about the term "3d Artist." When you think about it... what is a 3d artist? The term 3d Artist is so broad that it could tie to anything. Modeler, animator, rigging, rendering... So what do you want to get hired as? You look to me like a 3d modeler.
Submitting this to the blizzard student contest. Thanks for all your feedback/support guys! I'm still going to be adding onto this scene to make a good flythrough for AAU's spring show, so I'll be filling in the rest of what's off camera. Also I'm learning particle effects now, so some low fog and maybe a chimney with…
This is the state of most types of traditional education systems and it's pretty appalling. Luckily there is a quickly growing micro economy of actual professionals giving info direct to students that is relevant and applicable in the year they are living in on sites like gumroad and cubebrush. It's just getting started…
thanks for the kind words. Life has been really hectic recently, but I will be doing more vids soon. Current work load is teaching 6 classes... meetings with Riot games this week and getting students set up with micro interviews. I know I am way behind schedule, but I will get things back into high gear soon. --Metric
What i like alot is how you have these tutorials and the higher priced ones, alot of people especially students are in a position where they might not be able to justify spending 50-60+ dollars on a video tutorial, but are able to buy these awesome 15 dollar ones! keep up the good work guys! also gamedev give me all your…
No offence, and I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but I'm a games design student - whom just finished my second year of a games design BSc (hons), and I studied games design at college for a year after my A levels and you have a Loooong way to go if you think you can join the industry after a year...
floating licenses usually means companies, having another 15+days of testing on people who are most likely hobbiests, freelancers and students to work out some problems that may occur is pretty understandable in my book. having one person say "zbrush r7 is buggy dont upgrade" on a company level can be enough to not have…
Not bad at all for Student work. Some of the better stuff I've seen come out of AI-SD. One thing that really bugs me is how it doesn't really look like it's raining. It's just barely..if at all noticeable. Looks less of a storm, and more of a sprinkle. Also I agree with everyone about the lack of contrast..and could do…
If catching up seems out of the realms of possibility i can tell you some students in my class who had barely touched 3d at all are all smashing out great up to date art. There's also a huge Udemy thread here on PC which cheap invaluable tutorials. and for $2.15 http://www.3dnice.net/game_weapon_dev.html is a fucking steal
