Same issue in 3dsmax the uv's are split when importing the Obj or fbx. But the overall megascan looks quiet sweet Any estimate time between each wave of new scan materials ?
still on hold till I find the time to continue with this. I had recently though some nice ideas of doing the same in maxscript and 3dsmax and or a version which snaps to imported UV's.
Let's talk about 3dsMax and Unity. Can I have a mesh exported to Unity and apply 3 materials. One on the first ID, one on the second ID and one on the whole object.
Based on the description this sounds unlikely but have you checked the pivot settings in unity? Also, what happens if you load your incorrect pivot file into 3dsmax? Is the pivot still wrong?
in 3dsmax the Preview of RTT is always the like 'Complete' Map i think. You have all lighting/texture informations of the scene in the preview. Try rendering complete instead of diffuse only.
It is weird. I'm using 3dsMax 2012 too, but I have not met problem like this. If cursor hover over work window it's automatically switch to zoom when I use mousewheel
@Bruno_Camara : excellent so far. Do you normally work with such low poly base meshes? or are they stand-ins to which you replace with hi-poly created in 3dsmax/maya/etc?
Yep, here is vid for 3dsmax: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZCJF4cGPjc But unfortunately I couldn't find XNormal version, which is more interesting for people who don't use max
For modeling look into a plug-in called Nex. It costs but its worth it, especially if you're coming from 3dsMax, it will have a lot of features you'd miss otherwise. www.highend3d.com is the scriptspot.com of the Maya world.
aniceto, what program do you use to recreate the zbrush model as a subD model? does 3dsmax have good tools for doing this, or should i buy something like polyboost?
