If you're going for hard surface, I suppose not. Class I mentioned was before we picked our specialization. I think it may be worth mentioning CAD hard surface modeler too such as Fusion 360. Perhaps just an introductory session and let students explore on their own time if they so choose.
Speaking about jobs.... Wtf is a c++ character artist? :/ http://www.gamesindustry.biz/jobs/heath-betts/uk-and-europe/senior-c---character-artist--titles-for-xbox-360--ps3-and-pc--id41303
Okay so hmm I tried out the new GoW3 demo and its the same as before Seriously, to whoever is hyped by GoW, do yourself a favor and give Bayonetta a try (on 360). It's like a hundred times better. Granted I only played the GoW3 demo and not the full game, but it feels soooo stiff compared to La Bayonette.
We built a prototype for this using Kinect when I was working at Microsoft - it can work reasonably well if you're smart about it. Either way, this is a weird move given Oculus have their own controller in the works and the 360 pad isn't that great.
I had so many issues with the Dead or alive (xbox 360 one) boss. The fucker has combos that can take down 60-70% of your life. GODDAMN I HATED HIM! THINKING ABOUT IT MAKES ME WANNA GO OUT AND TAKE OUT MY AGRESSION ON PARKED CARS!!!!

Unless there were games out there that used hand painted textures at 12k tris and the same rigging etc. its only a texturing technique which yes is a skill and when done right is jaw dropping but is null and void in next…
Super late start here. Beginning with Fusion 360 for the silhouette / basic details, planning to transition into ZBrush after. Spent tonight working on the handle - there are a few more details I want to add, but I'm pretty happy with the shape and thickness so far. Thoughts?
I like My DSR's to be cleaner, its a new gun that doesnt see mush action so i would just keep it clean imo. If you have a PS3, check out MGS4, dont bother with the updates just run the game and have a look at The DSR in the weapon viewer, full 360 view of a nice clean DSR, MGS style
Just had a play around on this, it's a really good base to work from- average lap seemed to be late 29s per lap- looking forward to seeing how this progresses! :) The cart feels good, was getting some opposite lock going on when drifting the cart which is what I remember from the last time I did it in RL (going back a few…
