too bad you didn't follow odium's advice. What he meant was to smooth out the edges of the highpoly as they are much too sharp for a bake. You'll surely notice that yourself when looking at your model's edge highlights.
Make live kind of lags Maya for me on dense meshes ? Anyone have that problem ? I resort to the archaic way of edge hand modeling a lowpoly mesh around the highpoly with a transparent material. Gotta try topogun soon :)
The way your UV's are mirrored won't work, but that's not causing this issue... When you look at the models in the 3d viewer in Xnormal is the highpoly/lowpoly overlapping correctly? Other than that I'm not sure, someone else might have to chime in.
Yea, try using MentalRay or xNormal, gives you way better results. I know it's a lot of extra work to export all those highpolys/cages to xNormal but it's worth it, had the same "fun" with my P90 :D
nice One thing that stuck out for me are the teeth on the inside of the chain/tread - they appear to be paper thin with the internal mechanism sitting where the thickness should be. Other than that, highpoly is looking sweet and liking your take on the concept.
This shot looks wonderful. Nice work something I felt odd is the pipes, not exactly sure what, but feels like doesn't match with the environment ? . -How did you do the racks, are the holes highpoly bake or actual geometry ?
I think I have finished the highpoly. Im going to mirror the right foot as that has the detail and i will duplicate the pouches going to move on to the weapons unless anyone has anything to add that would make it any better?
Suba: thx I am actually going for a spyhunter/bond type Hedi: thx! Hitmoninfinity: Actually I'm building as much as I can. Only problem its getting too highpoly to squeeze into 2 x 4096 :/
@Firith thanks a million for the paint over I am kinda stuck now. This paint over is definitely help. I felt that i lost some muscle definition when I transferred model from highpoly to lowpoly.
Finished up the rotors and some fine details like rivets. Ended up removing the fuel prod, just stuck out too much. I think I'm calling the highpoly just about done, and moving on to the lowpoly!
