What is going on with the polycount? You have all that detail in the main weapon and then you make the silencer and barrel so damn ugly. I would get rid of a lot of other details people dropping that far down. Not even PS2 games were THAT bad sir.
Nice! not sure if its the lighting, but i'm leaning more towards your albedo is a bit too dark? Feel like ps1's are much more lighter/whiter. Could also use a very subtle touch of magenta/purple, especially to break out of the monochromatic-ness.
unless console introduce new next gen tech. the graphic quality will be outpaced by multi function devices like handheld/phone or pc in upcoming years living room experience? we will see small phone or next gen handheld nintendo/psp can be ported to hdtv.
Well not for all situations. I doubt it could be used in films where close ups are common. Floating geometry is almost exclusively used in map baking, but then again you could also achieve the same result with modern softwares for texturing like PSC in conjuction with dDo and nDo2.
JacqueChoi my favourite is Psy-crow -4erever :) Josh_Singh yeah, his DK looks for me as dead-elf-chick-ideal, so I watched on her many times in my refs collection. Asherr - haha, they added few Sylvanas in one time :) Thanks for all
Damm - did I missed it? 31 march 11:59PM (PST), thought it would be today in about 10 hours from now in MEZ-europe-geman time ?? So it´s over now - and I did not manage to submit my stuff *oh my heart*
I'm pretty sure the cross platform play on X360 has more to do with Microsoft and their iron fist control over the content put on Live. I remember Valve bringing that up as the issue why they couldn't get cross platfrom coop/steam on XBL but could on PS3.
I think you'll find that an environment like that isn't that expensive in either polygon count or texture memory - at least by Ps3/xbox standards. And the trick to making a whole level that has that kind of texture quality and poly count is to re-use the same assets and style throughout most of it.
While it´s true that it is entertaining, i really don´t see any practical use. It´s a feature which i never used once. If i want controls like shaking my controlling device i play with my wii(or ps3 with move):poly142:
I tried that just now and it gave me the shitty 8 bit swirls when I tested it in zbrush I also tried saving as a psd, jpeg, png, and tiff, still get the same result, either the weird pixelated version or the 8 bit swirled version
