Hmm, weird... I've never had that problem. What I'm wondering is, why don't you just use the PSD you're working with? Max reads them fine - no need to use a TGA, surely? Or are you working with some sort of non-standard shader material?
That's completely absurd. Almost as absurd as NOT buying Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows for the PS2 and Xbox game systems. With cutting edge graphics, a dark storyline and a legacy of direction from none other than John Romero, you would have to be as dumb as an orc to pass this one up!
actually the final polycount will be more like 5k normal mapped I think hes more peeved at the term next-gen though, but since I still work on ps2 games its next gen to me. I want my buzzword damn you!
For conceptual work I find instrumental hip-hop and psy-trance work best. They're engaging without being too distracting and pretty open to interpreting into whatever I'm working on. Once I'm down to the raw labor of modeling/texturing/rigging, anything goes.
You should be able to get a mini usb cable: http://www.cmsproducts.com/detail.aspx?ID=388 i couldnt find mine, and used the cable for my psp and camera until i found it :) Justin: ya, they have 2 ports, one for lefties & one for righties
Doesn't work in versions of Photoshop prior to CS2 though. We had to use PNGQuant with Photoshop 7 in order to get pngs w/alpha on PS2. I use CS3 now as do most studios of course, but a lot of smaller studios and outside contractors might not.
EQ: groovy. How computer savvy is your father in law? What's he think of the interface? My tv is 1080i so I'm not worried about blueray, I tried it out on my ps3 and there's no noticeable difference between a bluray and an upscaled dvd on my tv.
the graphics look like some of the best ever in a game and yet it is the only Xbox360 PS3 game i can think of that does not use motion captured animation. i don't care how talented someone is, they cannot make Star Wars using just mspaint.
I actually know very little about what they're up to with next gen. Im destined to work with the PS2 til I die EA Canada seem to be in charge of all the cool next gen stuff so Whargoul might know more about this.
Shotty, you make my pee-pee hard. The rug across the saddle is really spectacular. I'd also like to know how much is photo texture overlays, and how much is just good old fashioned painted grit. Send me the layered PSD!
