@Biomag That sculpt looks great, and could be very helpfull. Thanks a lot for the tip! @Geocat Wow, thank you so much for all the critique, links and references. I totally agree what you said about 3D.SK. I had the subscription for a year while a go, and I almost only used it with spotlight to paint base for skin textures.…
Thanks Potm! First thing I'll share is actually something I do when I finish a piece. I like to do post-mortems on finished pieces that one, took a while, and two, didn't turn out the way I wanted. What's important is that I actually write these things down and they form the foundation of what I do differently for my next…
Earlier on the floor was a mesh but that had problems of its own so it is a bsp atm. As for the walls I agree I will separate them and re-import them. It does have a post process on it, which is why it has a reddish tint to it, I will go back and mess around with the bloom I personally didn't think it would fit my scene…
I have no problems with criticism. If you read older posts you will see that I have altered my gun in ways to try to make it better. It's just that everytime you post you pick out something new to harp on and to me it seems like it will never be good enough. I know that you are right on most occasions and I'm not saying…
Cheers for the comments guys! Here's an update of my Gnar sculpt. I've done most of the retopo as well, will post that up when it's done. I've also been working on my Mega Gnar, will post something soon, not happy with it yet but will have to post it up soon for some feedback.
This looks like it took a lot of work and it's clear you mean well. This goes for attribution, too, at least in my understanding, but if you use material published under a Creative Commons license, for example, you'll have to link to that license and can't restrict the usage rights that were originally given. Your…
it's just fine if you like and you think he deserves to be posted in front page, i have no problem with that, before i posted any comment just reading the comments make the demonstration of a bad idea from polycount admin. the reading i got from the replied posted after the thread was featured, isn't the feedback the guy…
Escalation 1985 is a realistic first person shooter that asks: What if the Cold War had turned hot? It promises a brutal vision of what it would have been like for soldiers on the line on both sides of the Iron Curtain had the balloon gone up. Team We are a team of 25 looking to grow our ranks with more talent. This is our…
Visited threads with new posts don't get "unvisited". That was the feature I liked the most on the old board, no stupid cookie mechanisms. A better divider between posts would be better, too. It's kinda annoying to have to search where a post ends and the next one starts. And I miss the polyblobs!
It's a case of "it depends". Here on UE5 Manny (top), the transition from soft parts to hard panels is continious, achieved with a very precise placement of loops perfectly following the transition (and therefore also dictating the ID/texturing mask, which ends up being nearly per-polygon hence very clean and robust). Yet…
