Echoing this, your UV Layout is solid for this piece, just give it some little hints of hue shifts here and there and perhaps some more ambient occlusion, especially where the oil/battery can is strapped on. Really love the silhouette of this though!
Don't forget too that you can use the Texture Importer in Unity to convert to a cubemap http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/class-TextureImporter.html It says you can import a cubecross layout, but I haven't tried that so not sure how that works.
I loaded the texture onto the OBJ you posted and it looks fine in Toolbag. Is it possible that you're loading an older version of the file, perhaps with a different UV layout? Double check that and make sure it's the correct mesh you have in Toolbag.
Definitely better with the split categories. I wouldn't be afraid to give much more technical descriptions of your programming achievements, if you are looking for a more technical internship. Also funny to see where you got the layout for your resume ;)
You are seriously naughty for such a large animated gif. You can also make an alternate UV set created just to fix the seams. Bake the diffuse out, do fixes, then bake it back out to the original layout, and blend it into the original.
Oh are you bringing that in as one whole peice into UDK? You should block at your scene with some quick BSP to match your layout then start breaking down your assests in maya and exporting them as seperate static meshes.
Good stuff I like the layout even if its a little weird seeing the galleries in blog format. But at least the art is on the main page =) It would be great to have some more tuts from you, the two you have are great.
one little word of advice (classy layout so far btw!!) : never use filler text as a temporary solution for your folio design mockups. You will be tempted to keep the text in the final version, and verbose folios are always annoying!
looks like it was made like windows 8 >_> I would use larger images, even for the preview/navigation images they are quite small right now. also the layout messes up fullscreen for me see: http://i.cubeupload.com/iLZwix.jpg
One suggestion I would make is to revisit that UV layout. You have acres of unused space there. Scale some important islands and play a little tetris with it. Don't let the auto packer have the final say - it's never optimal.
