I like the design of the outside, but the inside looks extremely uncomfortable. If it were me, I would add much more padding and soft areas. A person is supposed to be sleeping there for days, months or even longer, so they'd probably wake up with some horrible shoulder and back pain, hahaha :P
I find the handling still complex to enjoy the soft on two pc . I do not see myself doing this every evening to transfer my license among my two pc . In the end I feel compelled to buy another license for my laptop. Thank you for your help anyway.
Okay it was another guy from Raven Soft then, my bad. No we plan on moving closer to Gabe and his team mates hopefully today :) That is right though, I remember they told me they are having lunch with 2 employees 2 days in a row. Anyways, congrats man! Welcome to the team /cheers
Thanks Hoopla! Tried a new painting technique and it ended up with quite alot of polishing. Basically I only used a soft brush with a low flow setting. I was a bit worried that I would lose some depth but I think it's fine. PS. It would be nice with some critique on the angels!
This is awesome man. My only crit would be the hands...they look very nondefined like he's wearing really thick gardening gloves filled with padding. They look very soft compared to everything else...i dont even see knuckles on the left hand. still, great representation of serge's concept!
wow great miauu, can't wait to test it. I see that this is just a beta and not final but here are some suggestions. Can't you use edge distance for the soft selection, setting it something like the number of edges in the bridge divided by 8. Also can't we have an interactive relax with all it's options.
if you want to capture that toonyness aspect you definitely need to soften up your edges. pull back those control edges significantly so you can get some nice soft smoothness going on..... generally everywhere. to be honest it doesnt look HP at all. do that.. itll help.
Even spans, good modeling practice. Also, for texture re-use possibilities? If you bake soft its super hard to re-use texture, but if you have enough spans in your low poly you can get away witch chopping pieces up again for new ones.
The way I generate it and how Pior said you can generate it is through Crazybump. Just input your normal and then copy the map under the Diffuse tab. Then set it to overlay or soft light in photoshop and mess with the transparency of the layer. It's useful sometimes to adjust the levels on it too so there's no full black…
Concept is so rad! I'd go angular with the stones as well, just because the softness is bringing this to cartoon town. Most of the shapes in the piece are sharp and exact. Also, the lighting is delicious in the piece. A great mix of natural light and sourced lighting. I'll be watching this for sure - best of luck to you!…
