^I was thinking his starting model was much curvier than the concept, and I liked that. Anyway, I think this concept has a lot of potential. The colors will really pop on the model. good start with the mask, although I think the eye lenses pop out more in the concept, as in, I don't think they're embedded in the mask like…
Pior> Most definitely. But in that case you are using the AO pass as a mask for something else you are trying to achieve, such as dirt in cavities, etc. But yeah, I agree. Using the AO as a mask for dirt/dust/whatever in your diffuse is helpful. The original intention of the ambient occlusion was to occlude ambient. In…
Justin: Popular Mechanics got it's FACTS from government sources...many of them admitting that previous government claims were wrong. Here are two of the more recent claims they use as FACT: [ QUOTE ] What was left of the plane flowed into the structure in a state closer to a liquid than a solid mass. "If you expected the…
Masks here are the masks of Insryption, they represent bosses as well as characters the player can meet through the overworld. Sculpted in Zbrush and textured in Substance Painter. There is a particular character who wears them but I can't reveal him yet. The twisted doctor is into some shady business You can then sell…
One important point here is that you seem to have subdivided without smoothing. So the polygon look comes from actual geometry and not from normals. At least that's what I would guess without having seen the wires It's not completely clear to me what you want to do but I would split the mask and these tiny spikes into two…
You sort of can? At least if you work in like RGB values you can paint in masks and use them later in substance painter, or likewise if you're just painting straight materials in zbrush you can bake down MatIDs. I doubt we will ever see true material mask painting in zbrush without the use of other more specialized apps.
I think these sandles much more practical and gives you a little more wiggle room for different types of poses. The masking has a really good start. I think you just need to clean up the shapes a bit. For the fangs of the mask you can the shape so that it has a nice curve. I did a draw over since I'm not the best at…
@sunray cheers mate. Appreciate the comment. Texturing was a very fast and simple process in Substance Painter: just painting several skin value variation layers and masking between them whilst building up the tones gradually. the same as what I'd usually do painting skin in ZB......but with layers and masks. And that was…
Not sure this has been covered or not, but it's possible to mask off UV spaces with nodes in UDK instead of bringing in the additional texture sampler with the checker pattern. If you place your flipped UV's to the right of 0-1 space for example: http://i.imgur.com/JwPce5R.jpg For other UV layout situations one could…
Hey all, I tweaked the cobbles: Nastobi: I don't use polypaint. I bake colour masks in MAX and use Photoshop overlays to add variance. Polypaint is a bit too cumbersome for me :p I use the heightmap/ao and maps generated from normals in Crazybump to help with details and create masks. Jonas and Kratos, thanks guys! I try…
