I was using separate Geo for the arched stones and the "wall" that connects it was because I am planning on having a very different texture between the two. I really wanted the separation to punch. Thank you. I got the concept from my teacher so I don't know the original source. The road texture isn't hand painted, rather a stone floor texture I found and tiled. I think the town and building idea is awesome actually. It could create some awesome depth :) -

Hi, gem stones are rather complex materials to represent. Could you post some reference of what you're trying to achieve, and some images of how far you've gotten so far? Should be able to give you more advice if I have more of an idea of what you're trying to accomplish. -

I'd just make modular rocks, ridges, stone formations, stalagmites, couple that with custom shape geometry with tiling texture/normal and assemble it in engine. Sculpting or generating whole thing might work but I doubt texture resolution will hold up when player starts walking inside and checking out stuff. -

The greyish building on the left side could use a much rounder edge for the corner of the building. The types of stone it has for the texture would not be sharp at all, and since that part is a focal point, I think you should revisit that. Textures are sharp and with a few color adjustments as people have mentioned this… -

Okay, i'll give the floor another pass now. I got carried away with the whole style of the thing instead of what would happen realistically. So basically what i will be doing is just smoothing out the hard edges and fine sharp detail of the letters on the stones. I'll have an update soon -
