Hey guys, so I'm a student in New Zealand currently finishing my 3rd year of 3D animation. I have this assignment where I need to research and experiment with a new workflow for creating photorealistic 3D concept art to broaden my skills in my chosen specialization. I specialize in concept art, and would like to ask some…
Sorry for the stupid question. I'm a total noob. What is this animation that is usually used in browser games? I mean the slight movements of the knight and the highlights on the icons in the attachment. Is it a gif? Or maybe a video? Why can't I view these media files in the browser console? How does it work? How is it…
From a playable level perspective, there's more than enough light though slightly a bit bright imo for players negotiating waypoints plus engaging interest as well, however that said I've gamed more than my fair share of FPP dystopic/war/survival ips and most have a distinct related mood helping to immerse an audience.…
If you're aiming at a AAA racing game poly budget (Forza, Dirt, Gran Turismo...) it is easily over 200k counting interior. The workflow usually doesn't involve retopo, unless you're given a CAD model to work from. This probably varies from person to person, but my usual workflow is to start from a blockout and add details…
Hi you dont have to do what I suggest, its laready coming along well but heres some ideas. Yeah I meant the mechanical parts more like steel (the claw pieces) and maybe the guns as well. The colour scheme is ok, I would suggest trying some other more land based military colours just to see what fits best also there seemm…
an alternative in this case could be Marmoset Toolbag with its skew mapping. this should be the perfect usecase. on the more organic stuff I work on its usually more troublesome and causes issues, but on something this boxy it should work great. but as you are using substance, another option would be just painting this…
the eyes offset is most easily fixed by unbinding, removing the bind pose, and rebinding them. Since they 100% weight to a single joint this is an easy fix. if during the setup of the fit skeleton it complains about joints not being zeroed out this can also be the issue, if you ignored that. One time I had a similar issue…
Hey guys cgtrader says that for a PBR workflow I should upload at least: BaseColor Normal Metalness and Roughness. And in case of a glass material I should add an opacity map. This I don't get. I usually make my glasses with refraction maps in Vray with ior and other options, but why doesn't cgtrader ask for a material…
First of all awesome, its a Supra! Now for automotive work you model the car mid poly, I have never seen automotive work going through high and low poly. Due to the nature of car's curvature shifts and mostly flat areas. Usually you bake the mid poly car onto itself to get the required maps. Having said that vehicles that…
I'm usually not in ranked mode, which I suspect you spend more time in. I'm usually in 3s, but go to 4s, depending on how many friends join in. Your name seems familiar from much further back... not during my recent return to the game. I usually spend my time blocking, and trying line up shots for my team (and occasionally…
