Thank you i got it, it wasnt just as simple as adding more edges, the vertices are those point were not welded. So once i did that, then you sub div rec everything works now. Thank you for your quick response, it was racking my brain ... too late maybe bed time lol -

Vertex Paint doesn't store the vertex colors, the colors are stored in the vertices themselves. Try going to Object Properties and turning on Vertex Channel Display. Do the colors still show up? Your exporter might require the modifier to be there simply to "see" the vertex colors... did you try adding a Vertex Paint… -

There are a lot of very obvious differences in scale here. Your archways are wider and shorter than the concept. Those little vertical pieces above the arches are about 1/4 the size they should be. There are things like that all over. You should really step back and build what you SEE, not what you think you see. -

Obviously the pic I found has her slightly looking up. Which kind of ruins where things are vertically... but you should still get a good idea of where things are horizontally. Hope that helps. Probably doesn't 'cause it's such a bizarre paint over. But the grayscale idea I had in my head worked with the paint over! -

its the winding of polys that tells them that they are mirrored on UV. However the part where the seams are, ie the border of the uv-mesh, those will always make a problem. Afaik the only way to fix that is to duplicate all vertices that lie along this borderline, however this can as well be done in code. NV MeshMender is… -

Scott: that's the idea. You sculpt all sides, so you can just flip them any way you want to break up the pattern. Quite fun to do, actually. edit: actually, just one brick, as far as I'm aware. Not only can you rotate, you can flip it horizontally and vertically. -

I would bet the did it by cutting the UVs into strips, so there are probably UV seams running horizontally, just along the shingle bottoms. Straighten out the shells, tiling the shingle texture. And there's very little stretching, because it's minimized by using several horizontal strips, stacked vertically to complete the… -

@PaulJChris that vertical middle piece on the main building is a bit wider in the concept. other than that, looks good. @MagicAnton good start, love the details on that. as for me i started modeling on the more easy parts: looking to add some hoses in those once i figure out spline meshes... -

Hi and thanks everyone SirCalalot -> thank you ! i recently made canons that will be on the second part of the fortress. I made this asset as a single portfolio piece. So i have 1x1024 for diffuse, normal map and specular. The mesh is 9769 tris and 5389 vertices. as usual, comments and advices are welcome
