Very soild man. Liking the work so far. Might suggest adding some things that make it feel more personal. Items that would be useful on the underside of the ship, like repair tools and such. Notice how in this picture the tank has all that extra gear stuffed in the back. Keep up the good work :)
I do 3D modeling, 2D design (menus, textures, interface, etc) and rendering. If you need additional help for that. I prefer only working in mid-poly - high poly. Making more realistic models. I don't do characters yet, but have done a wide array of items and objects. Thanks
Wait, arent you doing undying in his ultimate form, maybe risings tomb between them? Then again whole thing might get too complicated with adidtional multiple objects. Anyway, undy wins early game, ls easily does what he wants when he gets few items.
Yes, that means VRay, Redshift, IRay or any other renderer is allowed. No post in Photoshop other than a background swap though. The contest is about the Beast itself. Rather than having Beauty represented as an actual character, the beast could hold an item belonging to Beauty or something in the scene could remind us of…
That looks sweet well done :) btw I have a question regarding Items I'm having a problem as mine has imported correctly but its no visible I started a thread here:http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1715426#post1715426 If you happen to be able to shed any light on the issue it would be muchly appreaciated :)
To fix this go to Customize User Interface > Menus. In the right panel right click on "Edit" and pick Edit Menu Item Name and change "&Edit" to "Edit". The & symbol lets you choose which hotkey is used for ALT menu selection. For example changing it to "E&dit" will make Alt+D open the Edit menu.
you need more edge cuts around the edges of your item. you can define how strong the edge or crease by adding a supporting loop and pushing it close to the edge. Everything looks kind of mushy like clay. http://cgcookie.com/blender/2013/06/21/tips-creating-sharp-edges-modeling/
Do you have the phone plugged into your PC? That was something that screwed with me in the past. If the phone is connected as a drive, it disables access to the file storage, and items may not be able to install. Set it to 'charge only' if you need it connected. I have seen it normally too, but can't remember what I did to…
There usually will be no one time to transition to Zbrush with a lot of assets; it's very dependent on the elements involved. Something like this, I'd argue you can stay in Maya the whole time. I find myself, with complex items, jumping back and forth at really any time between Modo and Zbrush to get the high poly done.
Looks more Mass Effect than TF2, so it might help to take a look at some of the stock weapons in the game to get a good idea of how design should work when making TF2 items. That said, it looks pretty solid, especially coming from someone who's been modeling for such a short time.
