Currently sculpting Skull Kid from Zelda: Majora's Mask! My next progress is gonna be on the hat, adding the rings and making it more asymmetrical, as well as working on the folds of the shirt. I'm also gonna sculpt some wood texture on his body at some point.
Personally i hot key things like connect, loop, ring, the snap tool ect. What do you use most when using MAX? do you find you use a certain modifier on a regular basis? like turbo smooth maybe?
caps lock Changes all hotkeys in Maya, and hides my damn painter ring in ps Since I've gone back to Logitech for my keyboard now I get a huge on screen notification I've just turned it on, and can avoid the headache most of the time.
Here is the low poly with the normals. I am still working on cleaning up the normals. I have removed the rings because they didnt really fit the sci fi feel and added some small antenna that would be lit and used as part of the remote control of the cannon.
Looking good. Maybe a little much for one picture for the HP Just dont reduce the polys on the ring, nothing turns more off than a circular shape with not enough polys, especially if its for portfolio usage Funny how hard they copied the Luger from the germans.
Yes, most of the geo is cut into the original shape of the sphere and the head piece. The only thing that are floaters would be the bolts and the designs on the middle sections. The rings are all cut into the model. I was getting some seam errors and angle errors which I am currently fixing.
looks great! i'd work on the diffuse some more to define some color variation on the skin, but other than that it's killer work! oh and maybe open his eyes. and why is the skin between the two rings on his legs green? bodypaint? :P keep it up!
hmm I seem to be turning in to the lod master:) yeah best way is to use collapse edge and also target weld with preserve uv's turned on. so yeah select a ring and collapse edge or select a loop and remove edge with ctrl , then you lose the verts as well.
I know the EA employees went thru a 12 hour a day 7 days a week crunch as of Sept 20th till release of Lord of the Rings.....which people don't talk about...Soul? I had inside info at a GNomon class I attended.
That depends on how the triangles shade or if they create artifacts. Long thin triangles can be problematic for certain types of rendering. If you have even more edges in your circle then they become longer and thinner, so you might add a ring around the circle and gradually step the number of edges down as it radiates…
