just another update boys and girls, blue still to be worked on , nice and gray is current progress, feet took some time to figure out how exactly they would move and rotate with this whole steam piston thing going on, its 7 am and ive been workin on this since 10pm. so im a bit done
A new one. Resolution is better in the original but photobucket scaled down it because it was too big. Did some technique practise: 1. Sketch (Figures as Cubes, like when i do lifedrawing) 2. Fine 3. Brightnes just as gray 4. Shadows 5. Color (Layer with Blendmode "Color") 6. Colorcorrection 7. Glow
haha, i stand corrected. I guess im just used to using 6 or 7 k tris for characters. Thats what people tell me to use at school, thats what employers tend to say(or at least the ones I talk to), and thats what every competition in charater modeling for games sets as the tri count.
Its more fun to steal a car transporter, park it near the wall and stunt jump over it. I think the coolest thing now is the first time I opened up the Nitro boosters. Has anyone done any pimping missions? Or the bike courier from the 24/7 near the orange sign near city hall?
update - added legs and feets. slosh - thanks for the advice :) i thought i had the proportions pretty good though he is a tad short, just a bit over 7 heads. could you maybe be a bit more specific? as before crits are much appreciated... though i know it's boring subject matter :p
I'm not sure if there's a standard setting for something like that because it would widely vary on gameplay and platform requirements. I imagine something like Everest VR's terrain texture setup to be vastly different from Ace Combat 7's setup. The Landscape and Texturing section of the Polycount wiki might be a good place…
Here's an idea, has anyone known someone, or personally gotten an admin job in a games studio? It won’t be a stepping stone into the studio itself in my situation but it would be a great way to spend my last 7 months in London (besides working my ass off on my portfolio) to get some insider experience into the industry.
The script is ready. You can find it here. The mini TTI can't be docked, but when the title bar and the borders are removed you can't move it, so place it in proper place and it will stay there. Watch the video to see how to use the script. Tested on 3dsMax 2009 through 2015, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Video demonstration.
Doodled up some quick unreal prop ideas in sketchup whilst looking at some warhammer scenery Started working on a male basemesh from digmon style/proportioned characters :) Quick A3 observation of rapide http://images.xboxfrance.com/7/5024/artwork/zoom/5404.jpg done in pencil copic caio markers and ballpoint pen :)
