HI everybody ! Huge thank you for your feedback ! I didn't expect that. Your advices are really handy. I modified lots of things (and i made lot of screenshot !) The headmesh is a basemesh i find on "makehuman", i thought it was better to sculpt it on a soft like zbrush. Here is the results :
Fantastic update, Adamn. I agree that some of the grass is popping a lot - very bright spots next to very dark. Looks like a tree trunk or two in the BG is also suffering from that. Overall though it's looking great. The post effects are nice and soft, coloring is interesting and the atmosphere is serene.
Textures seem really blurry, post up more flats so we can take a look at them. As for the highlights for the roof you mentioned, you should try using a hard brush with stronger values to paint instead of using a soft brush to dodge, causes the texture to appear muddy.
You can mix hard and soft edges. You can select edges and go to Mesh Display > Harden or Soften edges. You can also automatically smoothen by angle, by going to Mesh Display > Set Normal Angle, I would try about 20 degrees for your mesh.
This is looking good, brother. Tip top so far, in fact. I agree with basing the fur on your diffuse, we pretty much always do that anyway. Usually just a soft sculpt for nice mass then diffuse controlled normal stuff. Anyway, keep banging on it. It's great so far.
Hey, thanks guys. Ah okay, I was wondering if it was a soft alpha to help blend into the other tiling geo. It just floats above the other portion a bit? The geo would look something like this? With the alpha fade blending into the texture below, but hiding the hard edge cutoff of the geo below?
Another... one of these threads?!?! Yeah, get off my internets! Seriously, I think we can stick to the big sopa thread with this stuff can't we? No need opening up a new thread every week when most people's feelings on it at this point are well documented in the other thread.
Really cool character, loving it so far! If Im gonna be nitpicky I think the face could use some more polish, some sharper creases and making some planes a bit more defined, It feels just a tad to soft. but other then that its looking really great, subbed.
make a nice blurry cube map and get some nice soft reflections on that brushed metal, will really help the POP i tend to make three cubes 1 sharpe 1 medium and one super blurred apply them to the relevant glossy materials fairly expensive but looks ace
Way too crazy-bumpy, Hammed. The roof tops look paper thin and the color needs to be re-evaluated. Even just bringing it more in line with the concept colors would help you. Those bricks look soft and squishy. Not like rock. Keep banging on this. Maybe send it to jason?
