Please correct me if i am wrong, but *I think* that doesn't work very well if your not selecting a single object's UVs. Tex-tools's (uv plugin) normalize function does nothing when multiple objects are selected.
After some digging around, found out its something nvidia related. Its fixed via selecting "integrated graphics" from the Nvidia menu, launching maya, then closing it, select "automatic" from the nvidia menu... everything's fine
To align a selected object to a working pivot, run $.transform = WorkingPivot.getTM() in the minilistener (drag&drop to a toolbar to create a macro). If you don't have the Pin Working Pivot checked, check it beforehands, so that it doesn't reset when changing selection.
I had this error as well, when you click on select faces nothing happens. so I go into face selection mode and max crashes. try it and see what happens for you FYI my units are set to meters
You can do it either through the source list in the projection modifier, there should be a button to "add" or "select". Or, you can do it through the RTT interface when you go to "pick" your highpoly, simply select multiple objects.
Okay, that narrows don't my selection of locomotives, do you plan on making it like in North Dakota or Montana, cuz the NP ran through those states during that year and it'll have a cool selection of locomotives to pick from.
Try turning on the normal display. In maya select the shape node and scroll down to "mesh component display" and select 'display normal' then set the dropdown underneath that to 'vertex' and increase the normal size value. Then post a screenshot of the mesh back here.
you should not need to select everything as long everything is skinned/parented to the skeleton, scaling the root should do the job, selecting everything could end up everything scaling twice, once the mesh and once the deformation driven by the bones
hawken: Well, a lot of it looks like just chaff, but the tools for selecting limited edgeloops/rings, as well as the "FlowConnect" tool look nifty. Well, and of course the half of the tools that are already in Wings3d. Select Identical can actually be pretty useful
select your model select the vers you want to "push" go in modify->transformation tools->move normal tool move along the normal (yellow manipulator), that should make it you can also move along u and v
