If anything ever is a deciding factor between me and another artist for a position; I hope this image is the deciding factor - lol. Having organized PSDs are super important to me and makes life so much easier when sharing files.
And I just lost all interest... Just when I thought that maybe Konami would stick to full console releases again for CS, they go right back to handhelds. Oh well, maybe a PSN/Arcade port in the future?
PNG's never worked for alphas and still doesn't. I was super annoyed that I couldn't bring in my 16bit psd's. But I tested that if you shrink the resolution down to 600x600 before import they go in fine. The limit is probably higher.
And the granddaddy of painting tutorials: PSG Art Tutorial I don't really see it as that limiting either, I thought I was screwed when I got laid off in 2009 but the demand for "old school" art refuses to go away
Well not really. CE before Ryse (don't know engine in Ryse version) can't handle few light overlaping over each other. And I'm talking about PS3 and X360. Our lighting artist have a lot of problems with that.
Ensure that your mesh is named Main (the prefix of your DDO PSDs) and export a new OBJ/FBX. Import the mesh via the 3DO Import tab (The three dots next to the mesh group name) and let me know if that fixes this.
Great fun, thanks for sharing this. Reminds me of the PSG Art Tutorial by Arne Niklas Jansson. http://androidarts.com/art_tut.htm I'd like to add this to our wiki page on drawing/painting resources, if that's ok? http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Concept_Fundamentals
I love making customization options for my character concepts. They become like cut-out dolls. It's very important to have good folder/layer hierarchy in the PSD when doing this. Becomes quite complex otherwise. Great fun!
I don't think you've captured the likeness very well, so if that's your intention, I would start again with the head. It justs looks like a generic head from a PS2 game. Try sculpting a head in Z-Brush.
Hey, thanks for the feedback. We intend to ship for iOS and Android first. So that pretty much sums most android phones/tablets, iPhones and iPads. Later on we will try PSP vita and Steam. No promesses ;) Maybe windows phone.
