Hey, thanks for the input man! I definitely see what you mean. I am making a new layout for my site now, so I will make sure it is much more apparent which is which. Thanks again.
I wasnt able to see your site on my phone. I get presented with your homepage but no artwork loads. If I click the web version everything loads though. Just wanted to let ya know :) Love the layout!
The sloped parts of the ceiling and a few other elements of the layout are really accentuating how low it is. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're going for a really claustrophobic space. I guess the question is what are you trying to convey with your room?
very interesting concept :) it's looking pretty spot-on right now, very detailed too. I'd say that trains are probably thicker than how you've made it, but that's no real problem considering the seat layout. Looking forward to more :D
it's also super easy to design doom maps because you can't have rooms over rooms - so you can do an exact layout on paper. I'd put Quake & Quake 2 level design above Doom.
Ok yeah the second and third picture you posted is going to be a lot like my scene layout so I will go for that kind of lighting and see what I can get. I will post something up tomorow for sure.
Scroll down for the 3d block in step by step. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=57060 Also, in the first Mass Effect art book they have what looks like sketchup layouts of levels. They didn't even bother to paintover it.
Don't base yourself on that UV layout too much, please, it wastes like 50%. I wouldn't dare turn something like that in in a company. This is much more efficient: http://www.laurenscorijn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/cougarbodymaps.jpg
Thanks for the replies, guys. I really appreciate everyone's help and patience, and thanks for taking the time to create a test model, cw. I'll try making some adjustments again later today, and will post the various maps / UV layouts.
Idea of the composition layout. Ill be masking some areas and concepting some different color theory's (as suggested by other people), as well as some background ideas before investing in the 3d models, all in Photoshop. Any suggestions are always welcome.
